Any student who was admitted with a foreign language deficiency must successfully complete two semesters of instruction in one foreign language prior to graduation. Students who have successfully completed two years of a foreign language in high school will need to request their transcript to be forwarded to FIU to waive this requirement.
All students entering any University within the Florida State University System with fewer than 60 credit hours are required to earn at least nine (9) credit hours prior to graduation by attending one or more summer terms at a university within the system.
Effective Fall 1984, the State Board of Education established minimum score standards (CLAST) for the award of the Associate of Arts degree and for admission to upper division status in state universities in Florida.
