Agatha S. Caraballo
Dr. Caraballo is an Associate Teaching Professor and the Assistant Chair for the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Florida International University (FIU), where she is also Director of the Leadership Studies Certificate. She is the Immediate Past Chair and former Treasurer of the Section for Women in Public Administration (SWPA) for the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), as well as a past President of the ASPA South Florida Chapter. Dr. Caraballo has organized numerous professional development opportunities and events, and received several awards for her teaching, mentorship, and service.
Raised in Northern California, Dr. Caraballo graduated with an Associate of Arts in Communication from Santa Rosa Junior College and later moved to South Florida. A proud Panther, she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Communications and Ph.D. in Public Affairs degrees from FIU. She has a professional background in higher education, nonprofits, and public relations. Dr. Caraballo and her husband Leo are the proud parents of a daughter and a son.
