Le Thi Thanh Nga (Angie) is in her second year as a Public Affairs Ph.D. Student at FIU. Angie receiver her bachelors degree in Investment Economics in Vietnam and completed the Public Management and Economics masters program which was jointly organized by Université Libre de Bruxelles of Belgium and the National Economics University of Vietnam in 2007. She finished the masters program in Development Policy at the KDI School in South Korea in 2015. Angie has been working in the public policy and development field for more than 10 years in Vietnam, including time as a researcher and coordinator in the government offices (Ministry of Investment and Planning and the National Assembly) and international development organizations (ILO, British Council) and some NGOs in Vietnam. Most of her work focused on macroeconomic development, livelihood, disaster risk reduction, land rights, social enterprises, budget and finance scrutiny and oversight, budget transparency and participation. Her research interests include Budgeting and public finance and the impacts of intergovernmental fiscal transfers on behaviors of subnational governments and their influences on quality of education at localities.
