ANNE ACKERMAN PUBLIC SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP: $2,500 — In 1989, the Forum of North Dade established the Anne Ackerman Public Service Scholarship in honor of the memory and contributions of Anne Ackerman to public service in South Florida. Applicants must demonstrate a record and/or potential for civic leadership; financial need; be a full-time graduate student in good standing in a graduate Public Administration Program at FIU; be a Miami-Dade County High School; and currently residing in Miami-Dade County. While holding the scholarship, students must maintain a GPA of greater than 3.0 in each semester and cumulatively. Interested Students should submit a letter of application, a copy of their driver’s license, and a resume. This 1-2 page letter of application should explain the student’s record of public service and offer examples of experiences that reflect either a record or a potential for civic leadership. JEAN-CLAUDE GARCIA-ZAMOR SCHOLARSHIP: $1,000 — Degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in or accepted for admission to FIU. Applicants must demonstrate unmet financial need, as determined by the federal financial aid form (FAFSA) from the Office of Financial Aid, and be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident. At the time of application, student will affirm in writing that they are of Haitian American descent.
