Agatha S. Caraballo
Dr. Caraballo is an Instructor and the Assistant Chair for the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Florida International University (FIU). Dr. Caraballo designs and teaches several fully online courses and is the Director of the Undergraduate Leadership Studies Certificate. Several of her classes have received Quality Matters certification, a national peer-reviewed benchmark for online education.
Dr. Caraballo presently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) - South Florida Chapter and is a past President. She is also the current Chair and former Treasurer of ASPA's Section for Women in Public Administration. She has organized several professional conferences and summits for the South Florida Diversity Council and its affiliate, the Council for Corporate Responsibility. She served as the Faculty Advisor for the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society at FIU, a chapter of the national honor society for public affairs and administration, for more than seven years.
Raised in Northern California, Dr. Caraballo graduated with an Associate of Arts in Communication from Santa Rosa Junior College and later moved to South Florida. A proud Panther, she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Communications and Ph.D. in Public Affairs degrees from FIU. She has a professional background in higher education, nonprofits, and public relations. Dr. Caraballo and her husband Leo are the proud parents of a daughter and a son.
