Agatha S. Caraballo
As a Digital Instructor and the Undergraduate Program Director for the Department of Public Administration at Florida International University (FIU), Dr. Caraballo designs and teaches several fully online courses and oversees the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) program major, minor, and Leadership Studies Certificate. Several of her classes have received Quality Matters certification, a national peer-reviewed benchmark for online education.
Dr. Caraballo presently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) - South Florida Chapter and is the chapter's immediate-past President, as well as the Treasurer of ASPA's Section for Women in Public Administration. She has organized several professional conferences and summits for the South Florida Diversity Council and its affiliate, the Council for Corporate Responsibility. She is also the Faculty Advisor for the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society at FIU, a chapter of the national honor society for public affairs and administration.
Raised in Northern California, Dr. Caraballo graduated with an Associate of Arts in Communication from Santa Rosa Junior College and later moved to South Florida. A proud Panther, she earned both a Bachelor of Science in Communications and a PhD in Public Affairs from FIU. She has a professional background in higher education, nonprofits, and public relations. Dr. Caraballo and her husband Leo are the proud parents of a daughter and a son.
