Alfredo Riverol has been selected as the winner of our inaugural Public Service Alumni Award! Mr. Riverol earned his Master of Public Administration degree at FIU in 2000, and since 2010, he has served as the Chief Financial Officer of the City of South Miami. An exceptional leader in local government, Mr. Riverol is also a committed, exemplary supporter of the advancement and continued excellence of FIU, serving on the MPA advisory board and teaching numerous classes. Congratulations, Alfredo!
On March 26, 2019, ICMA@FIU hosted a meet and greet event with the local government officials. The purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity for students to get to know their local government officials and learn more about current issues within the local governments. Town Manager Alex Rey formerly from Miami Lakes, Town Manager Rafael Casals from Cutler Bay, and City Manager John Flint from Weston attended the event along with other local governments officials.

Andrea Marie Headley, was chosen for a post-doc at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley and, then will join the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at Ohio State University (OSU). Vaiva Kalesnikaite will join the Department of Public Administration at the State University of New York, the College at Brockport.
