Omur Damla Kuru
Damla is a first-year PhD student in Public Affairs Program at the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Florida International University. After completing her undergraduate degree in City and Regional Planning, Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey, she went on to complete a Master’s degree in Urban Design at the same university. Damla's research interests relate to environmental sustainability, emergency management, and public participation. She is currently working as a research assistant for Dr. N. Emel Ganapati at FIU. Damla plans to examine long-term environmental risks associated with climate change and sea-level rise and how public sector organizations and communities respond to these risks in post-disaster contexts.
