Biography
Daniella Long is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of Public Policy & Administration at Florida International University. She holds an M.S. in Criminal Justice specializing in Policy Analysis and Race and Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration.
Her research focuses on the experiences of gendered racism among Black women leaders at Hispanic-Serving Institutions. Her broader research interests include race and ethnic relations, student success initiatives, and leadership development for minority students.
Dr. Long also mentor’s students pursuing the combined BPPS/MPA degree pathway, which allows qualified students to earn both degrees in a shorter timeframe than pursuing them sequentially. Additionally, she leads the recently launched Next Gen Volcker Alliance at FIU, part of the Volcker Alliance National Network of university programs dedicated to preparing students for public service through practical, collaborative leadership development.
