Biography
Daniella Long is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Public Policy & Administration at Florida International University. She earned her MS in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Policy Analysis and Race and Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and is a Ph.D. Candidate with the Department of Educational Policy Studies at Florida International University. Her dissertation examines the experiences of gendered racism of Black women leaders at Hispanic Serving Institutions.
The 2020 FIU Service Excellence Award recipient, Ms. Daniella Long‘s desire to improve the racial climate throughout the university community as well as foster a sense of inclusivity and belonging is apparent in her diversity and equity work. She recently participated in the 2022 Equity Summit and the National Association of Diversity Offices in Higher Education’s Advancing Equity and Anti Racism Strategies on Campus; and most recently completed the Manager Learning Series: Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging for All, facilitated by FIU’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion department. Her current research interest includes race/ethnic relations, student success initiatives, and leadership development in minority students.
