For more than 35 years, FIU’s Department of Public Administration has been preparing quality public service leaders. The Department recruits, educates, and graduates the best public servants locally, nationally and globally. More than 2,000 public service leaders have received their degrees from FIU’s Department of Public Administration.

Department of Public Policy and Administration Public Service Distinguished Alumni Award

This award celebrates alumni who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in public service and have made significant societal contributions to residents, communities, and the public service profession. Award honoree(s) will be selected every year and a joint award ceremony and reception will be held annually in the Fall with the Department’s New Student Orientation.

The 2021 co-winners of the Distinguished Alumni Award were Ms. Tara Smith and Dr. Pan Suk Kim.

Department of Public Policy and Administration Young Change Maker Award

This award recognizes the contribution of young graduates of the Department of Public Policy and Administration in serving as catalysts for changes through governmental and/or nonprofit organizations.

The recepient of the 2021 Inaugural Young Change Maker Award was Ms. Barabara Hernandez.

Nominations

Award honoree(s) will be selected every year and a joint award ceremony and reception will be held annually in the Fall with the Department’s New Student Orientation.
