Biography
Marckinson Fortune is a dedicated Health Service Administrator currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy at Florida International University’s Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs, expected in 2027. He holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in health services administration from the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences at FIU
With extensive experience in healthcare management, Marckinson has excelled in roles such as Provider Liaison and Patient Services Coordinator at Emory Healthcare and Behavioral health facilities Atlanta, GA. His work has focused on optimizing healthcare operations, improving discharge planning processes, and developing training programs, underpinned by his expertise in Six Sigma methodologies.
Marckinson’s research interests are centered on good governance of digital health which involves health privacy and security, cybersecurity, health digital transformation, and policy. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt certified professional, Marckinson is also a Maurice A. Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership Fellow and awarded the FIU University Graduate School Inclusion Fellowship. He is an active member of the American Society Public Administration and serves of the board as a student representative. Advancing both practical and academic knowledge in his field reflects his passion for impactful, transformative research and practice.
