Wokeya Yesmin Farha

Biography

Wokeya Yesmin Farha is a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Public Affairs at Florida International University (FIU). Wokeya completed her bachelor’s and master's from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) in Disaster and Human Security Management under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in 2018 and 2019 respectively. She worked as a Research Assistant at Change Initiative until July 2022 which allowed her to gather resourceful knowledge. She is a Graduate Assistant in the department of Public Policy and Administration of Florida International University, where she is working under Professor N. Emel Ganapati’s supervision as a Research Assistant in an NSF-funded Collaborative Research. Wokeya’s research interests include disaster related early warning approach in institutional setting and disaster risk reduction through an understanding of crisis and emergency risk communication.
